Jo Harman Bsc (Hons) MSST, MSTO

Jo established Rise Sports Therapy in November 2011, having graduated from the University of Gloucestershire with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Therapy. She is a member of, and fully insured with The Society of Sports Therapists, as well as a member of The Sports Therapy Organisation.

During her three years at University Jo gained valuable professional experience in a range of sports and events. In January 2009 she was part of a small group to provide pre-event massage and first aid at the 'Tough Guy' event in Wolverhampton. In June and July of 2010 she had the opportunity to take part in the running of pre-season screening and functional testing of Cardiff Blues Academy rugby squad, Newport Dragons rugby squad, Cross Keys senior rugby squad, and Swindon Town FC first team. Jo also provided pitchside first aid cover for the University of Gloucestershire's women's football team, and helped to run the University injury clinic, providing examination, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of sporting injuries to students and tutors.

From August to April Jo is 2nd XV Sports Therapist for Horsham RUFC, treating injuries and providing pitchside first aid at training and on match days.

Jo has always been interested in sport, and away from the therapy, enjoys to participate in a range of sports and activity. She used to play football, which she had been playing from a young age and throughout her years at University, although this is more of a hobby now. She also plays stoolball (a Sussex game, best described as a mixture of cricket and rounders!) in the summer months, and is keen to get involved in new sports that she hasn't participated in before. As well as playing, Jo enjoys to watch most sports, whether this be live or through media, and was fortunate enough to attend both the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London in 2012 as a spectator.
